I had a programmer try to add an 11 second splash music video before my WordPress website opens. She managed to get it to work on Microsoft Edge only (sometimes). On Chrome, Firefox, Safari, iPhone, and Android, the video only shows 0 or 1 frame and then opens the website. She used a plugin called FV Player and a little custom coding in the default-template file of plugin, N360-Splash Screen. (N360-Splash Screen is now disabled.) At that point, she was not sure why browsers, other than Edge, would not play the music video. I tried reducing the file size of the video from 14MB to 3MB, but that made no difference.
