Dear Hiring Manager,
I am inquiring about the Creative Writing position listed on oDesk on April 11, 2012. I am interested in being considered for the position. I have been told by previous employers that I my skills are unmatched and high quality.
I started my writing career about a year ago but I have been writing for over 30 years. However, I was encouraged to write a book, so I did. It is 160,000 words and 42 chapters' long. The readers of my book have given it high marks. I am in the process of editing the chapter of my book right now. I write poetry as well as can be seen at the end of each chapter of my book and in the attached portfolio. My poetry skills are moving.
I also have an AA in Finance and worked as an accountant/bookkeeper in previous jobs. So I am changing from my previous experience to apply for all writing jobs. I had a project that was near a dear to my heart that I created a business plan, a business proposal and sliding scales for the rents and deposits for an apartment complex for the battered men, women and children in my area. The reason why that did not work out is funding. I went as far as to make a 5 year prospectus to show profitability within a 5 year period. However, I have no experience with writing grants and that is why the project fell through. I am honest, I am diligent, and I am hard working.
I am available by e-mail, IM on Yahoo Messenger and Google Messenger as well as Skype. I would be interested in talking further with you about the position available. Thank you for considering me and I hope to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,
Andrea M.
