Is it possible to modify HTML so that it displays in a certain format in the dom selection (source code)?
The intention is to have the source code display content in this format:
Content
Header details
Navigation Menu
Sidebar
footer content
## Deliverables
> As the site gets spidered (Google bot) the content is the first thing that is picked up, although to the human eye it displays differently?
*Here is a response I got from a friend of mine, the co-founder of Wordpress, Mike Little.*
*You can do this in a theme if you want to. Use css positioning to move the header and navigation visually above the content. *
*Don't forget to provide skip-to and skip-over links for accessibility purposes.*
*But I don't think it is strictly necessary these days. Although I haven't found any recent references to Google's take on HTML5 (the "wait and see" ones are over a year old), I do know they are taking note of, and encouraging web authors to use, rich snippets. Especially those enabled by HTML5.*
*If you use HTML5 semantic markup you can clearly delineate the various areas of your page. Header, nav, section, article, aside, etc. You can also use roles, e.g. main, contentinfo, complementary to further hint at the importance of various parts of your page.*
I want to replicate the the basic look of [[login to view URL]][1]. Just the header section really with two navigation menu's.
2 columns. One would be wider and the second would serve as a sidebar.
The design would be like this (all coded in css without tables)
See attached images for diagram.
