We need a heatsink design for an off the shelf SBC, the heatsink made by the manufacturer is not efficient enough and we want to do better. The board is cooled by convection in a plastic enclosure. We are happy to use composite materials, for example, a copper plate and then the main heatsink of a different material could be used to maximise thermal efficiency. This job will: * Design the heatsink * Simulate thermal performance in the open air * Simulate thermal performance in the proposed enclosure The heatsink must keep the board cool, below 60 degrees, on sustained load. Deliverables will be: * Heatsink CAD designs suitable to send to a manufacturer * Performance simulation report in the open air (must simulate many hours of operation) * Performance simulation report in the enclosure (must simulate many hours of operation)

I can be useful for solving your tasks. I am design engineer of electronic devices with good research experience. I often have to carry out PCB, ICs and whole device thermal analysis. There are calculation practices for heat transfer modeling, choice of cooling method, thermal interface materials and heat sink parameters calculation. If you would like to involve me in your task solving, I need a more specific description about input data. I сan use special CAE for analysis of electronic devices: Mentor Graphics FloTHEM XT and HyperLynx Thermal, SolidWorks
