I have a prototype application that includes of a gear motor, control and power source from a power hand drill. I am looking to identify compatible off the shelf components to replace the function the drill serves. Gear motor - currently brushed DC, requires Motor Control - variable speed, forward reverse Power - must use or be converted from 110V AC What I need specifically is recommendation for and/or review of components for optimal function and compatibility. My alternative is to buy parts off e-bay and experiment, but I would prefer and benefit from some professional input.

Hello. I'm an electrical/electronic engineer well versed in these sort of things and I do know the sting of a misinformed parts purchase. I've built my own power tools and modified several others for my own purposes and the needs of my clients. I have scratch built more apparatus than I've bought in so I really do think I can help you with this. Really am. My priority is to see your device function well. What I'm proposing is to for two milestones to be paid into this job. One to be released after a design is handed over and agreed upon as a good path to take and the rest to be released after assembly and a thumbs up for operation.

Not a big issue, do you have a schematic and a BOM?.what about the PCB? Normally phase control rectifiers with a potentiometer and a switch is used,used for my on machine decade back. Cheers Adi
