What I require is a simple macro to modify our spreadsheet.
Currently we have a spreadsheet that lists our clients and also the monthly payment they make. We have a another column that says DD Active (monthly payment active). If there is a Y in this column it means the client is paying the monthly payment. If there is a N it means they are not active yet.
There is another 3 fields that says the total monthly payments invoiced, the active monthly payments, and the total monthly payments that are not active (pending).
Currently I have to manually look at all the columns that have a Y in the DD Active column. Then add the row to the formula that calculates "Total Active". For example the formula currently says
=SUM(E2,E3,E6,E7,E9,E11,E13,E16,E23,E17,E19,E34)
I just add to this manually. I have tired my best to show this with the screenshot attached.

What I want is a macro that will automate this. So when I change active to Y. It will automatically increase the total value of monthly payments active.

I don't think you need a macro, instead a formula will work. Please put this formula in cell H7:
=sumif(F1:F5000,"Y",E1:E5000)
Please let me know in either case it works or does not.
