Trying this again… I have data that I want imported to analyze in MiniTab 17 or R then, I need the results exported to Excel. The data is Time vs Shipments for 900+ products. I currently track shipments for multiple products, so this data will grow with time. Can the macro be flexible enough to cover this? In MiniTab or R I need the following time series analysis completed on each product: Decomposition (Additive/Multiplicative) Holt-Winters (Additive/Multiplicative) Double Exponential Weighted Moving-Average For each analysis I only care about the MSD, MAPE, MAD, etc. I do not need the graphs produced by MiniTab or R. Currently I do all of this manually for each product; can this be automated on each product? Note: I prefer MiniTab 17 (if possible), since I am beginner at R. Please see attached sample of the data I want imported into the statistical program. Before I award this project I would like to ensure we are on the same page, and that my project is plausible.

Hi, I had gone through the sample data you have attached with the project details. I am not quite clear with the objective of the project, you just asked to analyse the data using time series analysis but you have not mentioned why you want to anlayse the data i.e. what do you want to understand by analysing the data? (for e.g. whether you want to understand the trend for different products or you want to predict for the coming month for different products). Kindly add me to your contact and share additional information regarding your requirements. And about automating the process maybe we can automate this whole thing in R. I can try to automate this in MiniTab 17 as much as I can. Once the Objective is clear I can complete the project in a Day exceeding your expectation, but the automation may take some time.

Hey pal, What you are proposing, the only issue is it isn't really feasible for $200, or anything close. I've completed a near identical project for a company with 282,000 products. It involves taking the time series, piecing into a hold out sample of the last year, building a model on everything else, then selecting the best techniuqe (Holt Winters usually) for the product. You have an additional complication because your sample dataset only includes march, june, sept and december...so missing data. If your budget is closer to $15,000 let's talk because I have direct experience with every aspect of this down to running the models in parallel so it doesn't take 3 days to fit all the models sequentially. Hi Yes, it is doable. I will demonstrate how it can be done in R. You just load the data into a data frame and run a loop to fit all smoothing you need. Like this for Holt-Winters smoothing: # load your data into a data frame "dt" for (j in 2:length(colnames(dt)) ) { ts <- ts(dt[[ colnames(dt)[j] ]]) hw <- HoltWinters( ts, alpha = .1, beta = .1, gamma = F) # replace with params you need # add analysis / output code here } I will finish the task in one day after we agree input/output format

I used R and Matlab professionally. I can exprot data from Matlab and R in other format such as CSV and xls (Excel).
