I am a solo indie game developer. But, being a one-man team should not worry you. Making a run-and-jump game is fairly simple, and does not require much complex programming. I have done a lot of similar games, and is fairly knowledgeable of python and GDscript (which is the script for the game engine I use, Godot). I mainly use Godot and Krita, which are open-sourced programs, in making and designing my games. Mainly, because I know the hardship developers deal with creating their software, and I don't want to waste it by pirating their products. But, I can assure you that I utilize these open-source programs to their full potential, being able to create things on par with those done with paid products. Also, using open-source programs usually does not care about how much you'll earn with the products you made through them. You will get all the sales you will earn. Thank you!
