For some reason one of our SQL Server databases seems to exhibit a performance issue where the various application components start timing out. We can go for several weeks with no problem, then for several days in a row the timeouts start to occur typically in the early afternoon and last until around 8:00pm. We need a MS SQL Server expert to investigate this and tell us what is causing the problem

We must have full access on the db in order to create indices , statistics and alter [login to view URL] is your sql server edition and how big is your DB ?

I may investigate your: 1 server side settings 2 server level and Database level WAITS STATS 3 Most IO consuming queries 4. Their query plans 5. Missing and redundant / unused indexes 6 Create an analyse a trace during peak period 8 Probably plenty more things i forgot to mention

Usually SQL slows down due next reasons: 1. Missing indexes (lock and seek whole tables). 2. Reading to much data (filter tables on client). 3. Slow hardware (obviously). Please specify credentials to check your server.

I can find the issue for you and help you understand what it takes to resolve it. I will put in place some custom stored procedures and jobs which will monitor the server as well as review the setup of the system to help understand what is going on. If you don't have monitoring software looking at the server we can get some set up -- your choice.
