The app should be loading even if the database is missing. Is that online database on cloud? or the database inside the app? Most of the cases, the app wont load because of missing launch image or expired provisioning profile or for using some functions that is not compatible with the latest update. Probably your app uses Parse as a backend but that service was shut-down recently. So, all apps that depend on that service wont work anymore.
