The app soundwave has engineered its app to discover what music people are listening to on the iphone native music app, Spotify, youtube, Pandora, iTunes, Soundcloud, Deezer, 8tracks, Rdio etc - ALL IN REAL TIME- and then show those songs in their application for people to share.
On android this task is a lot simpler. You run a background process that picks ups metadata from any of the music players and you're done.
The sandbox nature of IOS makes real-time logging of activity in music players a lot more tricky.
All we know is that the app Soundwave has figured out how to this on IOS. They are no longer available on the app store after being acquired by Spotify.
I challenge you to engineer how we can make this a reality on IOS.
we’ll seamlessly track the music you listen to on your iPhone through YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Soundcloud, Deezer, 8tracks, Rdio etc
the idea is to have the songs show up in real time like in the attachment. My app would know what the user listened too, at what time, and on which music player they listened too.
