this image [login to view URL] developed using Adobe Flex. If you the user have Flash plugin 10+ then the upload icon will be a flash icon. If you don't have the flash plugin, then you see the same icon but it's not flash. Everything looks the same to the user. If you don't have the flash plugin you will see a message to get it. The only purpose for the flash app is to resize the image. The actual upload for both the Flash and HTML versions is handled via Ajax in jQuery. Needless to say image uploads are a snap when the images are resized. The flash app takes flashvars from javascript so you can pass in javascript callback functions and set resize variables such as max width and height. I tested with a 22MB PNG and it resized fine. One of my test files has a size of 5 MB and it resized to 80KB before uploading. Can you image the time difference? PART 2 THE PROJECT REQUIRED OF YOU I have an action website based on php pro auction software. Those familiar with this software will know that the image uploader is poor. I wish all clients when listing a product for sale to be able to upload images of any size which are resized to an acceptable size very quickly and on the fly (without client being aware) and without any load placed on server etc. However, having stated the above; I have this very same resizer is now in place, the resizer as mentioned above, sent to me by the coder you we believe to have passed on. BUT, this installed resizer, once the client tries to upload an image creates a pop-up. NOTE THIS IS NOT A CRACK.I received this mod from the coder, whom we think has passed on, as no-one can get in contact with him, so I cannot get the activation code from a dead man! This resizer produces this pop-up 6 times then allows you to upload images as I have originally asked for. I will send you out the full file will install instructions, as I require you to code so the pop-up disappears and install on my site. You should be able to fix the problem of site then install. If you are a serious expert who would find this a breeze to either use existing installed code and manipulate or create a clone of installed image resizer which would remove the pain in the neck pop-up, and do as I've asked above, then let me know. This is a simple project for someone with guru type pro bid knowledge.
