Chat program for inside a game

What is needed is a chat program that can be used inside the game Asheron's Call 2. I'm assuming this thing uses DirectX for graphical display. Anyone that plays this game knows the built in chat doesn't work 90% of the time. I'd like to have a small box on the screen with 1 line where you can enter text and the box displays it. The only other information would be the username displayed (which can be set up in the setup program, doesn't have to come from the game). When the text is entered into the box, it should be sent to everyone else that's running the program and is in the same monarchy. The client end would only keep up with Username and a Monarchy for information. The Server only needs the ability to transfer chat between the clients according to their monarchy (I can explain this in more detail if necessary) and the ability for a person running the server to boot or ban someone by name or ip. No other information is required to be stored on the server (no users lists, etc...) Server will be run on a personal computer w/static IP address. It would be a bonus if the chat box is slightly to moderately transparent. Chat colors should be: text sent from you: Blue/light blue chat colors sent from others should be a bright color yellow. Finally: This doesn't have to be a real polished program. Standard "boxy" style for the server and unadorned client are fine. Just needs to work without crashing the game. Slight preference will be given to those with access to the game. If winning bidder doesn't have the game and must buy it for testing purposes, I will reimburse you for the cost of the game at my local prices at best buy (it's currently $49.99). Because the game includes a free month, no reimbursement will be given for online game fees or internet access fees. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and exclusive distribution copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform Asheron's Call 2 Windows 98, XP Server will be run on a Win 98 2nd addition (although, if necessary can be run on Win XP) with 128 meg ram and 500 mhz processor.
