Java program for my auctions

Need a program made that will allow me to paste in my auction URL for Ebay and it will keep track and display the status of the auctions. Much like their built in "Items you are watching" page where it will show me the item's title, current bid amount, time remaining, etc. It should allow me to adjust my settings for each auction based on time remaining to make it refresh auctions with less time remaining more often. I want the program to look fancy so I'm choosing Java as the language. I like the look of the AOL Companion. So I'm thinking something along the same style that will show me the basics and allow me to expand the program to display the full details in a list-like form. I have a VB dummy created to help get an idea of the look and options that are needed. I'm considering having the final project made in different languages in order to find which works the smoothest and looks best. So if you're an expert in more than Java, that would be a plus. We could even start out with a mock up in a simpler language if Java is more difficult. Then work on the Java and smooth appearance afterwards.
