Streaming images (Flash)

The project focuses on streaming images and music fluently from a server to a Flash player running in the user's browser. The images will be put together to form a slideshow, which is shown to the user. Background sound will be played to add commentary to the images. A Flash object (the player) will load a predefined list of images effects / transformations. Each image in the list is consecutively shown to the user for a specific amount of time, during which the image must be moved and/or zoomed between two or more positions. The list is actually a 'timeline', which defines which image is played at which time. The user must be able to seek to any position on this timeline, which causes the player to jump to that position and display the image(s) at that position in the timeline. Background sound will be played to add commentary to the images that are being displayed. This sound must be synchronized to the timeline, so when the user seeks to a different position along the timeline that sound will have to skip accordingly. The important part of this project is that both images and sound need to be streamed from a server. Since the total size of the images and sound can be multiple megabytes, it is not possible to include everything into a single flash file (it would cause too great delays for users when opening the player from a website). Also, the list of images needs to be dynamically loaded from the server. The images and sounds are stored in a database. (see the zip file for more details) For an example player, see [login to view URL] ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). The following components must be provided: * Fully fuctional player * At least one working sample, consisting out of at least 5 images (each 800*600 pixels in size) and one MP3 audio file. The source XML file (the playlist) must be provided. * Any server side code that is needed to run the player and stream the data to the client. This includes the webpages, database and anything else that is required to make the player function. ## Platform The server will be a Windows 2003 server, running on IIS 6.0. Any web pages must be written in ASP.NET (2003 or 2005) of PHP (4 or higher). The images/audio must be streamed from this server. The meta data of the images (width, height, size, etc) must be stored in an MSSQL 2000/2005 or MySQL 4 (or higher) database. The actual images may be stored on disk on the server or in the database (whatever you prefer). The player must be written in Flash 8.0 or later and be able to run on a webpage inside Internet Explorer 5.5 or later and Firefox 1.0 or later. The player works preferably on as much browsers/platforms as possible.
