I want my web site to capture form submission search results from a 3rd party web site and to return those results back to the user as if the search had been entirely local to my site. The script will need to strip out the header and footer of the 3rd party web site's search results, and then to replace them with my own web site's header and footer. (You should assume the 3rd party web sites are not using XML.) The search form from my site should function as a single search interface for a number of different searchable databases of 3rd party web sites.
I want to be able to customize myself which 3rd party web sites the script you provide me can search. Therefore, it will need to be relatively easy to customize the script. The script should support searching a number of 3rd party web sites' databases simultaneoulsy or one-at-a-time. The user, using check boxes, will check-off the 3rd party web sites where he wants his search terms submitted.
*** OPTIONAL COMPONENT: Although not a formal requirement, it would be a plus if you included a password protected, web-based administrative interface. This interface will allow me to customize and manage which 3rd party web sites this script can search. The interface would include such features as “Add,” “Modify,” and “Delete” 3rd party web sites from the search interface. Again, this is not a requirement, but PLEASE indicate whether you are willing to develop this optional feature, and if so, how much extra you would charge.
Please Note: I have attached a list of all installed Perl Modules on my web server. My web site does support MySQL and PHP, although these are not requirements for this project.
