Opportunity to contract for a stealth-mode startup, working with a group of seasoned entrepreneurs on several consumer facing products. Requirements: - BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with a minimum of five years of work experience. - 2+ years of experience with Python framework such as Bottle, Django or [login to view URL], utilizing both Python and MySQL databases. - Experience writing and consuming (server-side) RESTful Web Services, both internal and external - Experience working on large-scale web media-based solutions, especially in regards of scaling large production environments. - Strong object-oriented design skills - The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects is essential. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: - Work with lead architect to create large public facing web applications - Creation of APIs and functionality to federate data from core platforms - Conduct load testing and code optimizations to improve application performance and throughput - Write and maintain functional and unit tests for automated testing and deployment - Implement changes and add new functionality in coordination with product development team
