osCommerce Platform Developement

Dear freelancers, We recently founded another company and are looking for an experienced ecommerce and OScommerce programmer/developer to build a proprietary onlineshop to market our electronic products. The shop should have all standard-features of e-commerce todays (precise directions will be given once contractor has been selected) and be completed within 2 weeks maximum. The job would also include the installation of OSCommerce as well as MySQL Database on our hosted server. We need you to create the foundations (site structure, site design (template could be provided), functionalities, etc.) for our website but we expect to take control over the website after you complete your work and want to be able to run the e-commerce (add/remove products, define Voucher numbers, accept payments, etc.) on our own once your contract is terminated. Our intention is to automate all/most of the operations along the value chain and avoid human intervention, notably in the following processes: o Client interface, account creation and management o Payment (Bank transfers, credit cards, paypal, ...) o Invoicing customers (send copy of order / invoice) o Place order with logistic/fulfillment partner o Logistic/fulfillment partner can confirm that the order is sent (potentially achieved outside of the platform) Contractor’s Profile We want someone who is skilled and can take responsibility quickly. Ideally, the contractor will have the following profile: 1. Good working knowledge and experience in WordPress, HTML and CSS 2. Ability to build new OS Commerce Sites 3. Ability to build external modules in (google analytics, merchant accounts, etc.) 4. Technical knowledge for maintaining websites + promoting sales 5. Basic on-page Search Engine Optimization knowledge for coding 6. Excellent command of English 7. Should be easily contactable by email or Skype between GMT 8am and GMT 8pm To be considered for the project, an applicant must give references and show the design portfolio of currently live & functional ecommerce sites built through his/her professional work. After being considered as an applicant, the contractor has to submit a rough draft of a site with: homepage containing categories & 1 level and other features, with links to the product listing page, product description page and checkout page. Payment The contractor will be paid sequentially based on progress made: - 1/4 of fee once the website design and structure has been approved by us (mock design) -1/4 once all pages/links have been created and website is functioning - 1/4 of fee after designed website has been refined according to our comments and successfully uploaded to our host server. -1/4 after the 30 days support services are finished (see working conditions) In order to receive payment in full, contractor would need to submit a "turn key" site, fully updloaded to my host server, under my store name, fully operational as an online store, ready to be viewed, browsed, sell products and receive sale payments, and containing all features mentioned above within maximum 10 days from day following date of agreement. Upon signing contract, we can agree on a number of extra hours needed to incorporate the modules we have in mind. Working conditions The contractor will need to sign a contract upon selection. Due to tight deadlines, we expect to receive regular (i.e. daily or more frequently if needed) updates on site design work from the contractor. After website is delivered, contractor is to provide training on how to use the designed website as well as a user manual. The contractor is also responsible to fix issues, bugs and problems on the platform up to 30 days following transfer of the website to our server. As we are an incubator of e-commerce businesses, there are considerable chances that we will consider a longer-term collaboration with contractors fulfilling our quality and professionalism requirements.
