Payment gateway integration (NoChex similar to paypal)

We are a group of South Africa based psychologists who provide telephone counselling to the UK. We have recently started a website, which we would like to use to take online bookings for counselling sessions. We already have a php script which is able to do what we need to in terms of displaying a calendar with available time slots, and taking bookings online (using MYSQL). However we would like to integrate it with a payment system so the client can be charged when they make the bookings. Unfortunately the person who developed the script for us is not available able to do this anymore. We would ideally like to have it integrated with the UK payment gateway www.nochex.com. Their system works in a similar way to a paypal merchant account, and from my preliminary checking, the integration is very similar as well.
