Wordpress help

I have a Wordpress blog that I need some help updating. Here are the things I need done: 1) Need a backup copy made FIRST. 2) Whenever I update the blog, I get a page full of this error: "Warning: mysql_affected_rows(): A link to the server could not be established in /home/content/l/e/m/lemonquest/html/wp-includes/[login to view URL] on line 183" Need that fixed. 2) I need the version of Wordpress updated to the most current stable version. 3) I need the header image to line up better to the content of the page, right now the page content is wider than the image at the top. 4) I need the header image to link to the home page. 5) I need someone to TEACH ME HOW to update the ad code on the page. In other words, I need to know where to go in Wordpress to change what ads appear where on the pages. My blog is [login to view URL] if you'd like to take a look first.
