My company develops textbooks and other content for ESL teaching institutes in South Korea. Our current project requires us to create reading lessons for students who use their tablet PCs to study English. Right now, my developers are reading novels and creating exercises for these lessons, which will be presented on the tablet PCs as "smart textbooks." These smart textbooks require us to link the novels to interesting or attractive multi-media content (photographs, videos, music, artwork, etc.) that can make reading English more fun and interesting for students.
Right now, my developers do not have time to surf the web looking for the multi-media content. Thus, we need to find freelancers who are willing to do the web searches for them. The developers will give specific descriptions of the types of media that is needed. The freelancers job will be to find the content that fits those descriptions.
For example, one lesson may require you to find a photograph of a father and son who look happy and comfortable together. You would then search the Getty Image database ([login to view URL]) or Flickr ([login to view URL]) to find attractive, interesting photos of fathers and sons who look happy and comfortable together. Then, you would choose the best photo and paste it into our lesson file. Another search might require you to find a video of the song "The Age of Aquarius" from the musical play "Hair." You would look on Youtube or other video sites to find the best quality video of that song and provide a screenshot and link to the video.
Our project will require freelancers to find over 5000 different images, videos, songs, art, etc from sources all over the Internet. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with American pop culture, viral videos, Internet memes, art, music and more, and he/she should be very comfortable using Internet search engines to find even rare or hard-to-find content. Our deadline is mid-April, and I would prefer someone who can work full-time on this from now until mid-April.
Pay will be a fixed amount - the freelancer can work on his or her own time, just as long as the deadlines are met.
