R script that collects stock news, Google Trends, Tweets

Overall Scope: Required Language: R, a programming language for statistical computing and graphics Deliverable: R Script with detailed # comments Summary: Collect relevant news stories, Google trends and tweets regarding each equity included in a predetermined list (see attached “stock code”). Sources can be Yahoo!, Google Finance, etc. The end result will be a data frame similar to the example provided “Stock sample” I have already created some of the code that collects news stories and preprocesses the data (see “Stock_code” attached) Steps: 1. Load required packages 2. Load the attached “Stock_sample” spread sheet and remove and process the “Company Name” column to the following format (tickers <- c("Abeona Therapeutics Inc", "Abercrombie & Fitch Co.”). I am currently getting an error on this step that seems to involve companies with numbers in their names e.g., “[login to view URL]” 3. Process the “Company Name” date to remove strings such as (“Inc., Corp. or, Ltd. ) If a company ends in: “Inc., Corp. or, Ltd. The period would be wrongly interpreted as the end of a sentence. So, my suggestion would be to add these corporations types to the stopwords function. 5. Collect news stories for each stock (see #loop over the tickers step in “Stock_code” attached 4. Place into a corpus 5. Keep only sentences that include the full company name (e.g., “Apple computer today announced……”) Discard sentences that are not relevant to the stock in question 6. Perform data prep on corpus: apply English stop words, drop caps, delete numbers, etc. 7. Collapse resulting data into one row per stock in a data frame (see ## Collapse multiple stories into one row per stock step in “Stock_code” attached 8. Use the “Company Name” column to retrieve data from google trends and twitter over the week previous to the run date. Return the google trends increase or decrease and relevant tweets. Process Twitter data the same way as news ( stop words, drop caps, delete numbers, etc.) 8. Include the stock ticker and company name in the row along with the collapsed news stories 9. Include all data above (fundamentals, news, tickers, etc.) in one data frame Attached files: "Stock_code” is some R script I put together that scrapes news and prepares data in steps above "[login to view URL]" Is and example of final output I am looking for from this project
