The job consist to convert high polygons objects in low polygons with Blender
## Deliverables
The Job consist to make the following object in low poly and to adjust the skinning (vertex group) with it. The total number of triangles for a characters must be about 2100 triangles +-5%
The following mesh list:
Head_00
Hair_60
Arms_00
LegsBoy_00
TorsoBoy_00
Foot_00
HandR_00
HandL_00
To give an overview i did a the following test (the blender file is with the spec):
- convert all object to triangles
- use the reducePolygon by 0.5 all objects
* it gives 3329 triangles
- reduce by 0.5 the following mesh ( Torso, legs, Foot )
- reduce by 0.75 the following mesh ( Head, arms)
* it gives 2315 triangles. It's near the target.
Note that the quality result is not very good due to the algorithm used, a human is able to keep a visual good quality. There are script in the blender file to count the number of triangles in a scene. Your work will be accepted if the number of triangles is in the target and the quality result is near the original.
It means
-Animations will be consistent
-Geometry follow original contour
You are supposed to check each animation. It's stronlgy recommanded to work with the original in near the working copy, with a second blender open of with the original in the same file.
The original blender file changed a lot, the best way to proceed should be to get the character in the outfitTest scene, the second from left on top should be the good mesh configuration. Duplicate it in another scene to work on it.
You will find two blender file, one that is the test (for an overview) and the original for which you will start from ([login to view URL]).
The result of you work should be a scene named result with the original and the simplified version linked to the armature. Then i will be able to check everything.
