I want to be able to enter a link to another URL for the WordPress Gallery thumbnail.
Currently, Wordpress gives you the option of linking it to the image file or an attachment page. I need to be able to give it a URL to a specific page.
Please keep in mind that I am specifically referring to using the default WordPress Gallery function (2.9.2). I know that I can give a specific URL link when I simply insert a thumbnail into a post.
However, when I insert a WordPress Gallery... the thumbnail only links to the image or the attachment page.
I want to be able to enter a specific URL for each thumbnail.
This problem has been discussed in the following thread:
Here are the steps where specifying your own Link URL in the Media Library fails:
1) Insert image > Media Libary tab
2) Click "Show" next to an existing image
3) Manually add a URL in the "Link URL" field
4) Don't click "Insert into post". Instead, choose "Save all changes" at the bottom of the "Add an image" popup.
5) Click "Show" next to the image you edited in steps 2 and 3.
6) The URL in "Link URL" field hasn't been saved. The URL has reverted to [login to view URL]
Anyone got a solution???
Please, no stock bids. I don't need to review 20 sites you previously did. I need to hear how you think you can accomplish the task.
