Academic Writing Sample: Case Law Analysis. To be used as samples for foreign students to illustrate critical thinking and analysis writing. Instructions: Read a short court case summary, which will be provided. Then write a case analysis at a length of 2 pages (700 words approximately). Sample is provided Format: 1. Write a one (1) paragraph "OPENING" that identifies the parties of the case and in which court the case was heard in. [Approximately 110 words]. 2. Write a two (2) paragraph "CASE BACKGROUND" a concise summary of the background problem of the case to identify the specific disagreement between the parties. [Approximately 150 words]. 3. Write a one (1) paragraph "JUDICIAL FINDING" summary explaining the ruling of the court, majority decision. [Approximately 120 words]. 4. Write a one (1) paragraph "JUDICIAL ANALYSIS" explaining how the majority decision applied legal rules/concepts to reach their decision, analyzing how those rules/concepts influenced the decision. [Approximately 120 words]. 5. Write a one (1) paragraph "DISSENT SUMMARY" explaining the dissenting opinion, why they disagreed with the majority. [Approximately 100 words] 6. Write a one (1) paragraph "PERSONAL OPINION" about if you agreed or disagreed with the court's decision and final outcome. [Approximately 100 words].
