Answer a tricky R question

Hi R is a statistical software its free and can be used with RStudio, I need an expert in this language for a simple but tricky task. An expert can solve that in 10-15 min I think. I must have an R code NOT C or any other tool or language as I need to integrate this in my existing R code project. The problem is identical to the one described here: [login to view URL] I need a modification of this code so that it does: 1) compare if there are more values in the first vector/table than in the second one 2) still work if there is no match in the second table 3) modify the code so that it does an approximation (closest element to the first number) 4)make a nice function of that Thats all - 4 small steps. Changing the existing code to something better or different approach in R is ok. If all done soon then I will include a bonus - I'd also like to keep the dev for future jobs
