MIcrosoft Visual Studio C# to write a software to run a research instrument

Hello, I read the project description, and I would love to work on this project. I think there are two ways to implement this project, and i can work on anyone you prefer: - Use a recent version of C# that supports Windows 10 (pros: supports Win 10 and faster to implement, cons: application won't work on older systems, and it needs the .net libraries) - Write the code with C language and Windows API (pros: works on all systems from Win XP to Win 10 independently, cons: takes relatively more time) I prefer the second option, because it produces an application that works on any version of Windows without the need for runtime libraries, so I can be sure that it will keep working for at least several upcoming versions of Windows.
