Self-Study Course Outline: Managerial Accounting / Finance with MS-Excel • We expect a detailed outline (table of contents) of approx. 4 pages with chapters, subchapters (sub-subchapters, if applicable), references, etc. • You do not write the content, just the course outline. The next step for us will be to hire qualified authors. • Target Audience: Applied business accountants, finance professionals (approx. BA/MA level) • Course duration: 6 self-study chapters of approx. 30 pages each (processing time = 2 weeks) plus a 2day seminar with 6 lectures (that reflect on the above chapters) • Course structure: Applied focus! Include as many exercises and case studies as possible (don’t write the exercises, just name the topic/focus of the intended exercise). Focus on the (daily) use of MS-Excel in accounting/finance. • Aim of the course: Immediate practical benefit for the participant. Ask yourself: Would you pay 2.000 $ for the course? If yes, it’s fine… • Country focus: Germany (the outline you produce may also be in English) • Please, make transparent why you choose the outline as you do. E.g. using references, examples of similar courses, practical cases etc. • Include references of at least 5 up to date textbooks and 3 scientific articles (do not copy their structure – use them (and your experience) to produce your own structure. Material should be up to date, of course. • Final control question: An author familiar with the topic should be ready to start writing when given your outline. Be as clear as possible to avoid questions from the side of the authors. • To qualify for the job you should either have a professional background in business accounting/finance or (if in academia) a PhD in a relevant field.
