Project Theme: Website developed for this school will be targeting parents of already studying and prospective students. Parents will keep themselves updated by regularly visiting the website with latest events and any new developments at school like holidays, parents day etc. 3. Technical Details: website will be developed with following latest technologies: • ASP.NET (front end) • SQL Server 2005 (back end) • Flash (Home page/ Latest Events Animation) Website will be compatible with commonly used browsers like ‘Internet Explorer’, ‘Firefox’ etc. 4. These lessons will be displayed based on parent registration information, and only displayed for those classes, in which their child is studying. 4.2 Flash Animation: Home page will display flash animation to grab the attention of visitors. This animation will include images of school provided by client and artwork by developer. Latest Events Animation: An ever changing ‘Latest Events’ animation will also be displayed on home page showing latest information for any past or near future events like Admission open, Parents day, Holiday etc. for regular visitors of website. Site Map: Proper arrangement of all the information provided by client. Tabs arrangement/Navigation will only be finalized after reviewing complete data. Lectures/Lessons Download: A restricted zone will be populated with lectures/lessons of classes by web administrator. These lectures/ lessons will be available to valid registered user of website for download. A simple user interface will be developed for uploading of lecture videos for web administrator. Web administrator will be required to fill in a simple form regarding information about videos being uploaded like date, time, class etc. This information will be used later to specifically display the videos to relevant parents based on their Login/Registration information. Latest Events Pictures: A separate section (open to be viewed by anyone) will be designed to keep the pictures of latest events, so that parents and relatives of children can enjoy their child/wards pictures online. This section will also help to promote the schools image amongst parents of prospective students. Parents Feedback: Parents can give feedback about school, teachers or environment, which can be reviewed by school administration. Reply to these feedbacks will bridge the gaps between parents and school administration. ‘Ask a Question’: ‘Ask a question’ option will enable random users to query any information. Registration for Prospective Students: Parents can be asked to fill in a registration form for prospective students in advance. School information can be provided to them as per their selected mode of communication (phone, email). Complete Yearly Study Plan Download: Students complete yearly study plan can be made available to parents for download, so that they can print it, keep it and discuss any matters/concerns with teacher administration. School Information: Complete School information will be available. Parents can select an option to be contacted about any update regarding their child using their login on website. Options of email, telephone & SMS (Mobile) can be given, and a user-friendly interface can be designed to facilitate the school administration department to easily send information messages to all the parents (as per their selected communication mode). Separate list of parents can also be printed depending upon their selected option. SMS delivered verification can also be performed (will depend on mobile service provider). • If an already computerized examination system is available, then it can be integrated to the website for online result announcement, where parents will also be able to print the result. • If an already computerized attendance system is in place, then as per parents setting (using parent login workflow), parents can be sent instant messages/emails regarding absence of their child/ward from school. • If an already student management system is in place, then student’s performance graphs based on weekly/monthly/quarterly (as desired) can be shown to the parents online. • A forum can be added on the website for parents to develop community, and discuss matters with each other.
