Logo Design for Terrafect - A Startup Software Company

Terrafect Terrafect is a software start-up company focusing on areas of civil engineering, geology, seismology and mining. The start-up aims the global market. Numerical modelling to understand the behaviour and carve the design of natural soils and rock masses and its relations with engineering structures is our primary concern. Terrafect mostly covers developing practical, yet technically high-end desktop software applications for professionals working in these fields. Terrafect will have numerous independently running software products, closely or loosely interrelated within the same ecosystem. Thus, morphing the designed logo smoothly with the future end products expected to have different names will be a major advantage in constructing the branding. “Terra” is the word for “earth”, “planet” in Latin and the partial phrase “fect” represents “perfection”, “effect”, or “being terrific” in a made-up combined word format representing the company and its vision. Although the nature of the problem we’re dealing with is complex, the logo is expected to have a minimalist approach, with scalability to be used at our website, banners, exhibition booth graphics, documents, business cards, etc. “Grains” of sand and gravel having different angularities may be a good initial approach to shape our logo, perhaps with a relation to “terra”, our planet earth. Details are up to the preference of the graphic artist. Used colors should represent pastel tones of natural rocks and soils. Submittals will include high resolution raster images with white and transparent backgrounds, a negative color background, as well as the vector file.
