Hi, I am Aerospace Engineer with extensive experience in Aero-structures Multi-physics modelling using ANSYS software. I have previously design aerodynamically efficient truss braced wing configuration for Boeing 737-800 Baseline aircraft and analyzed using CFD package ANSYS FLUENT. I have done project on Zero energy building that included natural and forced convection heat transfer of walls, roof and floor. My other projects include heat transfer analysis of heat exchangers, thermal energy storage systems. I have done thermal CFD analysis for thermal energy storage system to validate the heat storage and heat transfer rate using ANSYS. I have designed an internal wing structure for truss braced wing configuration and analyzed using FEA Package ANSYS Static Structural using FSI. The other aero-structural multiphysics modeling using ANSYS included aircraft Turbofan engine's compressor and turbine blades CFD analysis using ANSYS CFX and structural analysis using Static Structural. What an intriguing project! Personally, I believe this problem would be best solved, using CFD rather than MATLAB. However, not all packages are capable or simulating multi fluid flows. Fortunately I have some experience with one of the ones that can. I would be more than happy to generate a quick, and rough solution to your phase A situation. which I assume you may have some empirical data to compare against? As an engineer with an aeronautical background, I believe I have both the theoretical understanding, and CFD experience to arrive at a valid solution.
