I am an electronics engineer having over five years of experience as a professional circuit and PCB design engineer. I have developed many projects utilising Altium Designer and many other software for different industries as well as individuals. I would like to ask you a question please, you mentioned to have output voltages of 14.4v and low cutoff at 12.4v. But a buck converter won't maintain its output with lower input voltage then its output. Hey mate, So the project you have described seems easy but it is tricky! You need 3 inputs from 18 to 20 V with fuses on each input. Simple enough. The next part is the selection circuit which needs to ensure that the power is divided between the 3 batteries. Or else the output will run off only 1 battery! This selection circuit will have analog cutoffs built in to prevent the lithium ion batteries from over discharging. The next part is converting the output voltage to 14.4V A simple buck converter WILL NOT WORK. The reason being that your required output of 14.4 is above your lithium ion cutoff voltage of 12.4V. We will have to design a power supply (SMPS) using a dedicated controller or implement a buck boost converter to get to the desired 14.4V 10Amps of load you need to drive.
