Genome Analysis System

We have developed a functional prototype genome analysis system. It is a VB.NET application with a mySQL database back end. The objective of this project is to take a 0.9-alpha build to a deployable 1.0. This version has numerous UI issues and must be brought in line with our specifications (which will be provided). The work will therefore primarily involve the reorganization of UI elements in a VB.NET application. Work is also required to optimize querying and performance of the mySQL database. There is some additional back-end work on one of the applications modules to present correctly formatted text-based data. We will provide existing source code to qualified interested bidders. Upon completion of this phase, we will also require the development of a complete 2.0 application. We intend to award the 2.0 project to the selected outsourcing team (based on performance on this phase). ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 4. All associated programs used to load data, configure or customize the software; 5. Instructions for installing, using and executing the software; 6. System requirements for installed software; 7. Alpha and beta versions must be installed by consultant on client’s local server; 8. Development environment must be configured by consultant on client’s local server; 9. All licensing or other third party requirements of the software; 10. User manual covering all functions available in the software; 11. Complete developer documentation for the software, including, without limitation, (a) properly documented source code; (b) descriptions of all software modules or components, including all objects and methods; (c) descriptions of all configuration files, databases and other required data; (d) instructions for uploading included and custom data and update procedures; (e) instructions for account management and security/privacy procedures; and (f) details resource requirements for installing and administering the Software. 12. Consultant must provide detailed weekly reports (including current source code) mapped against timeline. 13.
