Speech Recognition for Vista

Coder is required to create sample unmanaged code, VC++ MFC CDialog based project which takes advantage of Vistas voice recognition functionality. Commands must be recognised on the dialog, and Dictation output must be sent to a functioning major commercially available wordprocessing ActiveX from '[login to view URL]', which will reside on that Dialog. NOTE: We have had 2 coders begin but be unable to do this functionality. Please bid only if you can do at least some of it. NOTE: you are producing sample code that works, not an end product, therefore installation etc are irrelevant. NOTE: There is a moderate likelyhood that you will not be able to perform ALL of the tasks/optionals in this request. If you bid without specifying that you cannot do parts, then will assume you can do all including optionals. Only bid if you know you can do the work please. ## Deliverables Project Requirements: To do this project you will need VS2005 or VS2003 and you will need to install a trial version of the ActiveX wordprocessor from [login to view URL] on your computer. If you only have XP, then your SAPI calls will likely run on Vista, but only actual testing will confirm. Easier if you have Vista. You will need to download 'Windows SDK' is our understanding. Dialog Design: Create CDialog based project Sample.exe. The dialog should have a Textcontrol on it, a menu with 1 item, and 3 buttons arranged as you wish. Menu has single item 'Menu Beep'. Buttons are labelled 'Beep', 'Reset' and 'New Words'. Menu has single item 'Menu Beep'. Buttons are labelled 'Beep', 'Reset' and 'New Words'. Functionality When user clicks with mouse on the:..... Menu item 'MenuBeep' causes machine to 'beep' (i.e. Beep(200,100);) Button 'Beep' causes machine to 'beep'... i.e. Beep(100,100); Button 'Reset' Releases all pointers to VR components and then reloads them... suggest calls ReleaseVR() and InitialiseVR() functions that you will write. Optional: Button 'New Words' takes whatever text is in the text control, and adds the words to the computer's language dictionary. Note: specify if cannot do this - your bid will still be valid if not. Using the systems 'shared recognizer' user should be able to say 'switch to Sample' to switch focus to [login to view URL] and then start dictating into the 'textcontrol' ActiveX. User should be able to say the words on the menu item or buttons to get that button or menu item called... i.e. commands. Words that are not recognised as commands should be dictated directly into the TextControl wordprocessor. Text corrections/commands should be available as they are seen in the 'wordpad' program in Vista... Specifically commands such as 'Correct xxx', 'delete that', 'Goto xxx', 'New line', 'Full Stop' etc should be available. Optional-Note: specify if cannot do this - your bid will still be valid if not. The closer the functionality is to what is seen when doing the Vista Speech Recognition tutorial the better... we are not sure exactly how close you can get, so please specify when bidding. Other Optional Issues:Note: specify if cannot do these - your bid will still be valid if not. If user has Dragon NS installed, will use that to do the VR instead. If program is run on XP Tablet Edition, should have some functionality... not sure what is avail. If program is run on XP without a recognizer engine, a reasonable message should show and mouse only functionality should be available. Absolute Requirement If [login to view URL] is running and the focus is NOT on the program, neither the commands nor the dictation should occur at sample.exe... i.e. make sure you are using the Shared recognizer appropriately if there are other programs open. Program should run uneventfully on XP, alerting the user if no VR is available. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Written in VC++, unmanaged, MFC code Written using Visual Studio 2003 or 2005 Written using the downloaded Trial version of the 'TextControl' ActiveX (from [[login to view URL]][1]) No memory, GDI, or User Object Leaks. Program when run on Vista, should have as much of functionality requested above as possible. Coder who is able to write safe, leakfree code with as much of the functionality of the above as possible within a short timeframe, will win the bid.
