I have recently finished overhauling the scoring system for Canterbury Country Rugby (New Zealand). As part of that I used a cron task to make sure scorers don't stay logged in when they are no longer scoring the game. If a scorer has stopped scoring a game, didn't log out and there hasn't been any activity on their device, then the cron task logs that person out automatically.
