3D scientific illustration

I need a scientific 3D illustration similar to the attached 3D image that I found, but according to my schema that I draw in Inkscape (attached). The idea is to design a thin flexible nanomaterial with cylinders, and the illustration should show how a light can change color and direct when going throw it. In my reference vector image, I have only 12 cylinders, but in the 3D model there could be more, like in the attached 3D image. The illustation should show that the strip is thin, it consists of vertical cylinders, each cylinder has multiple layers, the stip is flexible and waved. There is no need to have scientifically correct illustration, because I just need some cool image for the illustration to my paper. My budget is only 100$.
