This is a 3d OpenGLES 2.0, project for iPhone and android. The requirement is to create a program for mobile devices, which draws a 3d mesh with reflection and refraction. The mesh should rotate so we can see the reflection and refraction working. There should be an environmental mapping based on a sky texture. Therefore you should have at least a texture for the sky; any image would do. A sample of something similar is here: [login to view URL], but that's for desktop, not mobile. That sample uses desktop libraries which don't work for mobile devices. However it shows what this project is about; create something similar, an environment and a mesh with reflection and refraction. The program should run on both; iphone and android and draw a mesh in opengles 2.0 with reflection and refraction. The mesh should have vertices and faces, which can be saved and read from a file, something that can be created with blender, a common format would be best. The main goal of the project is to obtain transparency and refraction, not the mesh. The mesh can be as simple as a cube. The programming language could be C# with Xamarin, or C for iPhone and Java for android. The project implementation should be delivered as 2 working solutions, full code, which compiles on both platform, iPhone and Android, or a single solution on Visual studio if done in Xamarin. An ios c and android java is good as well, however the mesh format should be the same for both. The best format for the mesh is to have a first line with the number of vertices and faces then each line with the vertices' coordinates for each face. If you like to use some common format, like obj or 3dx that's good as well, as long as it can be edited with blender. The mesh should be simple, even a cube would do. If you want it hardcoded, that's ok. The mesh is not the goal of the project, the goal is to get reflection and refraction working. The solution should compile out of the box and run on both: ios with iphone emulator, iphone, android emulator and android devices.
