I am doing some research into the aerodynamic differences of two Formula 1 designs with the aim to do some Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis. I have two CAD models which are made up of several shells and contain many holes and self intersections which must be fixed. There is only so far I can go with free software with the self-intersects being the main concern. Ideally I would also have the model "wrapped", making the edges smoother in order to make CFD more accurate. I have put this in the 3D printing section as I believe these preparations are similar to those in 3D printing. I have 25 years working in product design and manufacturing and have the skills to take any product right through the design process to a level ready for manufacture. Working for many international companies such as Wallmart, Speedo, Hitachi, Visa, Tommie tippie and Tomy. To date I have assisted in taking over 40 products into production and have been responsible for creating IP for many other companies. I have a number of 3D packages for helping to sorting out 3D files. I would remodel the file into parts and make all surfaces smooth and editable. There are 3 basic stages to my work. Stage 1 – initial reverse engineering of files Stage 2 – file refinement based on your feedback from stage 1 Stage 3 – issue final files in a format for 3D printing If you would like to see examples of my work please let me know.
