Website Overhaul... take HTML site -> MAKE IT WEB 2.0 !!!

I need to have a website updated/rebuilt. I want it built using DRUPAL and have all the SEO modules installed. Right now the current site looks like a "brochure"; I need it to pop like the examples provided below. The Freelancer will have total control of the initial design, but must provide a design similar/competitive to the example sites listed below... WITHIN 24hrs OF BEING ACCEPTED THE FREELANCER MUST PROVIDE A .PNG/.JPG OF THEIR PROPOSED SITE DESIGN. (i.e. within 24hrs you will have completed a photoshop mockup of what the site will look like, the homepage / and a generic content page). You will then have 2 weeks to complete the site. There will be 3 milestones. A.) 24hr deadline to .jpg/.png of proposed site design (must look competitive with examples below) B.) Drupal theme customization of proposed site design, and initial content (content provided to freelancer after .jpg/.png -- there will be a similar amount of content as the example sites below). SEO optimization. Other minor adjustments. C.) Completion of site. SUMMARY: Take our site (see attached image) and make it look like MODERN, like the following "example" sites according to comments. This web site has a nice color and feel to it, I like the DESIGN the best - if I had a choice, I would use this one as our front page design! Less CLICKS, more mind reading???? Design that looks somewhat like a book, but this site isn't really professional , it looks home made, - I do like the ease of tabs at the side - OUR site will be pretty simple - yet we want to have lots of snaps for each tab and a few video clips.
